Our wet bay fresh water connection is a little cramped. We use this 4 foot extension house that we leave attached all the time in our wet bay. When we get to our campsite, we simply drop this extension hose down and connect to our fresh water hose. Its made our fresh water connections a lot easier.
We have been using these for years. We use them for a our fresh water hoses, black tank flush hoses and also for our RV power cord. They can hold up to 75 foot of hose. They also stack very nicely together for easy storage.
Having to shut down your water heater to disconnect your water, so you can wash the dog, clean some pots or pans etc. can be a hassle. Having splitter makes life easier. You also can hook one side to your fresh water and the other to your black tank flush connection. Just make sure to use a back-flow preventer.
If we have full hook-ups, we will connect both our fresh water and black tank flush hoses up to the camper. The valves on the splitter are never both open at the same time. However, we just like to be extra cautious. So, on the black tank flush side of our hose splitter, we place one of these back-flow preventers. It also helps to let us know that only the black tank connection goes on that side of the splitter.
Having a water hose daggling and putting stress on your connector will eventually create a leak. The connector will eventually fail. To prevent this, use these elbows on the side of your camper or in your wet bay, depending on where you need them. But they are always good to have on board.
We use these when we are traveling to seal up any open hose inlets that we may have in our wet bay or anywhere else. This prevents critters from entering and water from spelling out.
This is another inexpensive item that has come in handy many times for us. This will also help save your connections. If some accidentally trips on your hose it will put stress and possibly break your connections. This flexible protector absorbs that stress and helps to prevent connection failure.
Don’t waste your time or money on those cheap blue water filters they do not work. Trust us, we know lol. This is the best water filter that we have found for the money. We use the Dirt-guard in conjunction with the 1-micron Clear2O water filter and it has made a tremendous difference. You never know the quality of the water of the campsite that you are visiting so it’s good to be safe.
This is a true one piece solid 1-micron filter. You can use as a stand alone or with the Clear2O Dirt-guard. If you this filter in half (when your done with it of course) it does not have granules like all the other filters. Because of this water is forced through the filter. The Dirt-guard captures the larger debris, and the 1-micron catches the rest.
After about 1000 gallons you will want to replace the “Dirtguard 20-micron filter. This is the main filter and the first line of defense in water filtration, it catches all the large stuff. This filter, like the 1-micron filter also does not have granules like all the other filters out in the market place. Because of this water is forced through the filter. The Dirt-guard captures the larger debris, and the 1-micron catches the rest.
We love these and they save so much time and no more leaks. We have used these for a few years now and they have worked great. We also purchased some of the round seals which need to be replaced every now and then.
Water leaks can take the fun out of a camping trip. However, having the tools and supplies to quickly make a repair makes it worth it. Especially when your camping out in the middle of nowhere. Always carry a couple of pieces of PEX pipe and some various fittings as well.
This assortment of ½” PEX fittings may just get you out of a jamb when needed. These fittings are lead free brass and resist corrosion, mineral buildup, rust, high temperature and freeze damage. RV’s are typically outfitted with ½” pipe and fittings.
We use one of these whenever we are filling our fresh water tanks and when we are filling our black tanks to flush. We have two separate meters and we have them marked one for fresh water and one for our black tank.
